Mango Salsa

I don’t know about you but there is very little that I like snacking on more than chips and salsa. It’s perfect for parties, casual grazing or a quick bite. My favorite thing about salsa is how versatile it can be. You can pretty much chop or blend anything into a salsa which brings us to this fabulous receipe! There are only 6 main ingredients (plus spices) and it is a breeze to whip up when you are rushing. I have made this for many parties and it always gets devoured.


  • 1 mango
  • 1 avacado (ripe but still firm)
  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 1/2 large jalapeno
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Cilantro, diced, to taste
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Salt, pepper, and cayenne to taste

I usually tear off about a fist worth of cilantro and finely dice it, gradually adding it it and taste testing until I am satisfied. You can use any ripe avacado but if you use a mushy one it is going to look more like chunky guacamole than pretty mango salsa. But if you aren’t going for presentation than who cares, right? It tastes great either way. If you like more garlic like I do, try using 2 cloves instead of 1. My best advice is mix the avacado, mango and onion first, and then add the rest of the ingredients in moderation and taste test until it’s perfect. There is no wrong way to make mango salsa, so make whatever combination you love the most. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips.
